The process for granting access to data is initiated by submitting a request to the biobank’s scientific committee, which will assess the relevance of the request. This committee is responsible for granting permissions that provide access to samples for external researchers and organizations. All projects must have received ethical approval from their institution. A data transfer agreement must be signed by the biobank manager and the researcher using the data before access. This agreement stipulates that the researcher and their team will maintain the confidentiality of the information provided, use the data solely for the purposes of the specified project, will not share the data with individuals not involved in the project, and will comply with the biobank’s governance framework. The researcher using the data must indicate in their scientific communications (written and oral) that the material was obtained from the biobank. They must also provide the biobank manager with a copy of any publications and documents in which this is acknowledged.
